Caroline Horlock

I’m Caroline, a dedicated movement educator, Pilates instructor with a background in Sports Injury Therapy and Nutrition. With over 20 years of experience. I combine expertise in movement, injury management, and nutrition to guide clients towards a balanced, energised lifestyle.

My Pilates Journey

My Pilates training began with Body Control Pilates, where I initially specialised in mat work then worked under the mentorship of Helge Fisher, and had the privilege of working learning from Gordon Thompson, pioneers in their field.

I later expanded my expertise into Rehabilitation Studio Pilates studying at Polestar Pilates, collaborating with physiotherapists and osteopaths to refine my knowledge of injury recovery alongside functional movement.

My Background

My love of movement started early as a member of a youth contemporary dance company, where I first discovered the body's incredible potential. Growing up by the sea, I spent countless hours sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, and surfing. Pilates has been my guide to enhance my stamina and balance in these sports.

In my twenties, I lived in France, where I continued to explore movement, using Pilates to build strength for snowboarding and outdoor adventures. These experiences shaped my approach to Pilates, reinforcing that its benefits extend beyond the studio.

I’m committed to continuous learning, having completed additional training in Soft Tissue Release, GP Exercise Referral, and Pre/Post-Natal Pilates. I’m currently training in The Danielle Collins Face Yoga Method, adding another dimension to my movement education.

When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me outdoors with my children - kayaking, surfing, hiking, and making the most of every opportunity to stay active and connected to nature.

My Classes

I believe in the power of movement, and my classes reflect this philosophy. Drawing on my knowledge of postural alignment, tissue health, and cross-training techniques, I design each session with a clear purpose - whether it’s improving flexibility, building strength, or supporting recovery. My small group classes are engaging, purposeful, and highly personalised, ensuring everyone leaves with practical insights they can apply to daily life.
