Yoga

Every day, various times. All details in timetable below.

From Ashtanga to Vinyasa via Kundalini to Iyengar, The Wellington Health and Wellbeing Centre has a packed timetable of revitalising yoga classes for all abilities.

Yoga asanas (postures) and relaxation techniques were developed to bring both physical and spiritual benefits. The word yoga is Sanskrit for ‘union’. Yoga originated over 5,000 years ago in India, and was introduced to the West in the 19th Century, when scholars translated ancient Hindu religious texts.

As well as being both relaxing and energising – and terrific exercise for muscle tone – it can be tremendously helpful to restore a sense of balance in a world in which there is too much to do in too little time. Stress, fatigue, headaches, depression, circulatory disorders, asthma, bronchitis, digestive disorders, back pain and PMS may all be helped by regular Yoga practice. (NB If you suffer from any of these, do inform your teacher.)

Classes take place in our beautiful Yoga Studio with floor to ceiling windows.
