Counselling | Psychotherapy | Counselling Supervision
There are many different reasons for seeing a counsellor and I appreciate how big a step it is for anyone to decide to see one.
Breaking down the stigma of talking openly about our mental health is key, and I am proud to provide support for others’ well-being.
About Me
I am a Person Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist and Supervisor. I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists MBACP (Accred). meaning I demonstrate my commitment to safe, ethical and competent practice.

I believe our mental health is reflected in our physical health. Traumatic experiences, PTSD, stress, anxiety and depression can present in physical symptoms in the body.

The Counselling Session
If you need me to make reasonable adjustments regarding meeting your needs in sessions, please let me know.
I follow the Person Centred Approach to counselling. You are the expert in your life, therefore following this approach my aim is to offer a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space which is just for you to talk about those things that bother you or are having an impact on your life and mood.
Your first session enables us to meet and discuss why you are looking for counselling. It is an opportunity to get a sense of how we will work together.
Working Creatively
If working with images is something of interest, it may be helpful to use an image to explore an issue you are working through in a different way.
There are no expectations of being an artist. Sometimes it is difficult to express feelings with words. Image work can be a non-verbal approach to understanding the self, our thoughts and feelings that may be affecting our behaviours.
Some awareness and insight that can arise from working with creative and therapeutic expression can be:
Self-care
Self-empowerment
Embracing change
Understanding relationship dynamics
Finding an Inner strength and understanding of yourself

EMDR
I am fully qualified in EMDR therapy, obtaining levels 1,2 and 3 in EMDR therapy training. I am a member of EMDR Association UK and receive monthly EMDR supervision.
The brain is mis-reading threats in the current environment. By targeting the traumatic event and the way it is STORED, a successful re-processing session changes a disturbing memory into one that is no longer emotionally distressing.
Bi-lateral stimulation has been found to enhance memory processing and is the aspect of EMDR most well-known. This can be done by following my fingers, using handheld buzzers, listening to tones via headphones, doing butterfly hugs or tapping on each knee. All stimulation techniques provide the same results.
The first session focuses on history taking and treatment planning. I will ask a series of questions in order to build a picture of your life history, and key events which can begin to identify the goal of your EMDR therapy.
Here we can also determine together if EMDR is currently a suitable treatment plan for you. If it is not, then we can work together to form a plan of support.

Counselling Supervision
I offer individual or small group supervision sessions in-person or online.
We will:
· Spend time considering together what the supervisee is hoping to get from supervision, to explore
expectations and concerns.
· Provide a space for the supervisee to reflect on their work with clients, and to bring their struggles and
breakthroughs.
· Give the supervisee the opportunity to reflect on their development as a counsellor.
· Consider ethical and professional issues in counselling.
· Address possible issues around safeguarding clients.
· Think about the application of theory to practice.
· Reflect on the ‘here and now’ relationship between supervisor and supervisee.
