Pranakirtan contunues the bhakti journey at the wonderful Wellington Centre for an evening of chanting from the heart, on Sunday 18th February at 7pm
We'd love you to join us for our chanting event in this beautiful venue as we sing together to cleanse and uplift the soul.
Kirtan is yoga for the voice, a musical meditation that invites the participants to drop into the space of the heart as the mind stills as it focuses on the repetition of beautiful sacred words and mantras, fused with potency, and beautiful melodies to touch the chords of the heart.
Kirtan is from the Bhakti Path of Yoga, the path of the heart, and this truly is a heart-centred practice for centring, opening and releasing, in the gentlest of ways.
No experience is necessary, we'll share simple chants and songs, manly in a call-and-respose format where a line is sung, and then the invitation is to repeat it back, and so on, creating a circle of sound with deep resonance and flow. Wonderful tones emerge as we blend our voices with natural acoustic sounds of drum and mellow harmonium.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Mooji Sangha, Krishna Das, Jai Uttal, Nikki Slade, Sivani Mata, Deva Premal and Miten, as well as sharing original Western-style kirtan songs, there will be a divine mix for the heart and soul 🙂
